Easy to root for all devices with Android Unlock Root9.

Unlock Application Root there we talked some time ago in another our paper, when it was added support for several Android devices. Now, however, we provide you with the news of a new update that brings the application implements support for those devices carrying Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Unlock Root is an application for PC that offers one of the easiest ways through which they could obtain root permissions on your terminal. Just plug your device to your PC with the USB debugging turned on, and start the application from the PC, which is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. As we said, the latest version of Unlock Root has been added compatibility with other devices, even those with Android ICS, as the Galaxy Nexus, the Asus Transformer Prime, the Motorola Razr and the Acer A200.

As for the versions of Android Unlock Root is compatible with almost all versions, from 2.1 to 2.3, including the exactly 4.0.

The list of compatible devices, as can be learned from the official website, is as follows:

  • HTC Sensation
  • Galaxy Nexus
  • LG Optimus Black
  • HTC Wildfire
  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC Incredible S
  • Galaxy Note
  • LG Optimus 2X
  • Galaxy S II
  • Galaxy S i9000
  • LG Optimus 3D
  • Motorola Razr
  • Acer A200
  • Transformer Prime
However, there is a real list because Unlock Root is compatible with more than 250 Android devices, so you just have to try to make the root, because even if it does not work, you should not risk brikkare your terminal. Should, in fact, only be necessary to remove and reinsert the battery.

Who wants to experiment provides us with useful information about which device is able to carry out the root. Here is the link to download the application.

Opera Mini 7 available on Google Play Store

The Opera Mini browser is updated to version 7 introduces new features that make it even more interesting than it was before. With the gradual increase of Android users who chose the default browser was preferred by users, or at least the most used.

With this new update, which introduces at least 3 interesting features, Opera Mini again bypasses the browser's native Android putting it behind us and repositioning itself in front of everyone. One of the next exciting features that will be implemented in a future update of the application, will be one of the online payment.

Support Room, HTML5 and 3D graphics are the 3 most important features that were included in the new version of Opera Mini 7, as well as to submit an unlimited number of bookmarks (favorites) in contrast to the previous version where it could store only 9.

Samsung Galaxy notes sold five million in five months

At Mobile World Congress 2012 we had noticed but did not think that a device that costs around 599/699 euro would sell so much in so little time. According to a communication from Samsung in fact, in 5 months have been sold and delivered as many as 5 million Samsung Galaxy Notes.

Nothing to do with the 10 million Samsung Galaxy S II sold in 6 months but still a good result this is the first device of a new market niche where he soon comes also with its LG VU.

Congratulations to Samsung and hopefully not too use to update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich!

Asus Prime Transformer: a meaty update coming

Asus Italy communicates through Facebook that you are receiving a significant firmware update for the Prime Transformer. What is included in this update? We were really amazed by the many changes that will bring, and we present their message:

Big news on the horizon for users of Transformer Prime! And 'in fact an update coming very full-bodied, with version number 9.4.2.21. Here's what changed: first, it will be possible to control notifications (unread mails, etc ...) directly from the screen lock.

Some apps will change the system default name: the Market will Play Store, Books become Play Books, Music and Video will become Play Music Play Music.

There will be an update from ASUS Vibe from version 1.0 to version 2.0 (and consequently also an update of the app and myCloud MyLibrary). The new version of the Vibe will propose an improved interface and more content.

We will support the connection of Prime LAN cable, using the Ethernet to USB converter UX Series (sold separately as an accessory). Function that we implemented in response to demands made on Facebook.

With the new release there will be a new mechanism to update the camera firmware: will no longer need to be updated separately, but will be updated directly with the image of the operating system.

Important news will be the long awaited support for Ad-hoc networks required (rightly) a loud voice to all of you after the move to ICS. And then you say that ASUS does not think ;)

Finally we added the ability to display the HDMI output to TV viewing in choosing between portrait and landscape, each with an option to scale the video to full screen or cropparlo.

Among the upcoming features in the implementation of which we are working there are the Face Direct Unlock and WiFi.

That said: timing of update? Short, very short indeed. The release of the update on the devices should be Italian (except for last-minute problems) already this Thursday (March 29)!

At the same time we are working at full capacity to release another update that stabilizes the problems encountered by some of you on the TF101. And of course the update - long awaited - ICS for TF101G. Stay tuned ;)
Deathline then to March 29, 2012, let us know as soon as you are to receive the update! :-)

Top 20 Android Apps in the U.S.

Previous Next

Nielsen, a leading global provider of information and analytics around what consumers buy and watch, recently released the first mobile media rankings based on audience measurement data from the company’s new Nielsen Smartphone Analytics. This new service uses metered data from thousands of Android and iOS smartphones in the United States to report actual consumer behavior.
According to the first mobile audience measurement data from metered smartphone usage, after the Android Market app itself, apps for Facebook, maps and mail had the highest active reach among U.S. Android users above the age of 18. (“Active reach” is defined as the percentage of Android owners who used an app within the past 30 days.”)
While many of the top 20 apps showed similar active usage by both male and female Android smartphone owners, there were notable differences in active reach for social apps. Facebook's mobile app saw an active reach of 81 percent for women Android smartphone owners compared to just 69 percent for male Android smartphone owners. Twitter also reached more women (16.5 percent) than men (13.4 percent). However, Google+, the newest social network, had more than twice the active reach among men (15.8 percent) than women (7.2 percent).
Outside of social media, apps like Kindle and Words With Friends had higher active reach among women, while Quickoffice Pro and the Amazon App store had higher active reach among men. Google Maps had a higher active reach among men, too: 77 percent active reach among men compared to 71.8 percent among women.

Patents Make Google Very Popular

Google has been at war with their patents. With that being said though, some of those patents will make them very popular. Currently, they have been granted a hundred and eighty eight patents that they can use that go with the Android. They have teamed up with IBM which allows them to have more patents. They get twenty nine patents that are said to be from IBM that go towards those who have an Android as well.
Back in September of 2011, IBM gave those about a thousand patents. While many are not for those who have a mobile phone or for the development of other phones that will be created in the near future, they will find that these do help with other Androids. This is more for tablets and other things.
Google want to help make them better and all that. They want to make their portfolio bigger. When they do this more people are going to want these. These are things that keep the Android in great likings by the people who use the tablets and such. There are great things that they can do with these patents and we will just have to see what they are.

[Video] Nokia N9 with the porting of Android 4.0 ICS

The Nokia N9, which basically is designed as a smartphone operating system Meego, receives a port of Android Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0.3 which seems to run pretty well. Obviously this is not a smartphone designed for Android, so that the development has just started and is beginning to bear fruit, so expect new developments over time.

One of the interesting features of the Nokia N9 is the AMOLED display which gives excellent contrast and deep blacks. The porting was done by a developer who has worked hard on the project, called Project Mayhem, which other developers have also collaborated.

The ROM is still being Aplha 1, and then still unstable and in the experimental phase. However, the Nokia N9 behaves quite well and is fast as can be with a first attempt at porting Android ICS. Moreover it is a project that includes the dual-boot, or it can be started either operating system.

If you were owners of a Nokia N9 and would like to try the ROM, we refer to the link below the video that takes you to the official thread where you have all the necessary information.

Enjoy the show!

Samsung Galaxy Notes, Android can interface with ICS shown in a render official

The update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has not yet been released for the Samsung Galaxy notes, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S II, which has already received and that for which you can download and install it through the dedicated article.

Samsung has promised that the update for the Notes will be issued in recent months, but we are already slightly out of the window of time that the world's most famous Korean company had planned. Thanks to the official Facebook page of Samsung USA, however, have discovered the interesting details of how to better present the interface of tabletphone with the update installed.

In fact, the same Samsung has released a new rendering of the image that depicts the device, which was the subject of a contest in the USA.

From the image we can see that there is a mixture of both elements of that Gingebread Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which may not mean anything as it could mean everything. The new interface of the device with the update to Android 4.0 installed, you might encounter in doing so, or it could be just an image created for the contest that has nothing to do with the update itself.

Samsung Apple sells three times in China ...

Android is the most popular operating system in the world, but iPhone is the single best selling smartphone in most countries. This has become an axiom almost indisputable, at least in the second part of the statement. Android has indeed caught on widely only between 2010 and 2011, while the iPhone is in first place for sales since its launch in January of 2007.
The last piece of the phrase, "in most countries", excluding China. The land of Confucius is in fact among those countries where Apple does not sell as in other countries worldwide. Due to economic conditions, technological and social is the apple with just 7.5% of the market, what is the largest mobile market in the world. Apple is fifth, while Samsung is enjoying the top spot with 24.3% of the units. Why this huge difference?
China is unique not only for its particular socio-economic status, but also by adopting a unique communications technology called TD-SCDMA. This standard is adopted only in China by China Mobile, but it covers about half a billion people. The three major operators in the country, in fact, China Mobile (655 million customers), China Unicom (200 million) and China Telecom (129 million). The total of 984 million people, a vast numbers. Two thirds of these, however, does not have access to an iPhone and Android choose.
Initially Apple iPhone has sold only through China Unicom and China Telecom has only recently added to its customers. China Mobile, which is the largest operator, will probably remain for a long time without an iPhone: Apple does not want to "bend" to implement a new standard on the iPhone, so until the adoption of 4G technologies LTE, scheduled for 2013-2014, you can not use iPhone on networks of China Mobile. This returns to the advantage of Samsung, which instead is more than willing to buy up large slices of a growing market and that still is only a fraction of its potential.
The flexibility of the manufacturer Koreano adapting their products to market peculiarities (such as products with dual SIM for Italy and China, or CDMA products in the U.S.) has proved a winning and has allowed get almost a quarter of an unlimited market. The numbers involved are very far from those European and Italian: if we think that the only China Mobile users for about 11 times the entire Italian population, we soon become aware of the gigantic proportions of this market.
It will be interesting to see, in future, if Samsung manages to maintain such a high market share once the LTE networks will begin to spread and be adopted by operators. It is rumored to be the successor of the Galaxy S II (called Galaxy S III, not yet a final name) that the iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4SS, or New iPhone, or iPhone 4.5S, or iPhone And Just) will be compatible with LTE networks, then it crashed will be conducted "at par". It will be a clash of titans, where the victory of one party over another is not obvious.
What do you think? Samsung fail to win against Apple in the future while maintaining its market share?

Apple has tried to kill Linux!

Linux kernel is the core of many operating systems: apart from the various distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora and openSUSE, it is the "heart" of many other systems such as webOS, Chrome and Android OS. It is just in the news these days that the green robot and the penguin were brought together, and in the future will again be great friends. However, there are reports that plunging us into despair, while at the same time give us great joy: Linux could not make it to till today! Luckily it did not happen.

Apparently Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux and "benevolent dictator" of the temporary kernel of the GNU project, was contacted by Apple in 2000, when he still worked for Transmeta. Steve Jobs invited him into his office and offered to work on the then nascent MacOS X, with the aim of creating a form of Unix "for the largest base of users" (Unix for the biggest user base).

The problem, though, is that Jobs wanted Torvalds stopped working on Linux. Without Linus, Linux probably would not be as it is now - perhaps it would be better, but most likely would be worse. Without Linux, we would not have had any distributions for desktop and notebook computers, we would not have Chrome OS, we would not have webOS, but above all we would not have Android! Fortunately, Linus has not accepted the offer, and we can enjoy Linux and its derivatives in all their glory.

We can only thank Linus for choosing to continue to devote himself to his creature, and not to work for Apple.

Samsung Galaxy S III, photos and features official?

We have not even finished thinking that here come new news on the Galaxy S III. Thanks to the site GSM Helpdesk Nederland we are unable to come to the attention of a new image rendering smartphone that is given to the official, along with features that could make you literally jump off the chair.

The image you see above represents a smartphone with 3 physical buttons at the bottom, a sign that Samsung may not have wanted to adopt the policy of the softkeys on the Galaxy as Nexus, and a grid, also at the bottom of the device could probably hide the speaker or speakers.

If we focus on the image, it can be seen in the home and reported the date May 22, Tuesday, with locations in London, then your eyes open because the presentation may occur at any moment, especially in light of news that we have provided this morning, namely that the advance of the launch of the device to the month of April.

Now pay attention. Here are the features credited to the device and declared official:

     quad-core 1.5 GHz (probably Exynos)
     1 GB of RAM
     32 GB of internal memory
Super Plus HD AMOLED display 4.8-inch with 1280 × 720 pixels and 313 PPI
12-megapixel back camera with LED flash that records video in FullHD (1080p) @ 60 fps
1.3 megapixel front camera that records video in HD (720p)
     1750 mAh battery
     Bluetooth 4.0
     WiFi a / b / g / n WiFi Direct
     microUSB 2.0
     microHDMI
     DLNA
     thickness of about 8 mm
height 131 mm, width 64 mm
     weight 125 grams
     Android OS 4.0 ICS

We do not know whether to believe or not at all that has been provided by GSM Helpdesk Nederland, but the fact is that the site publishes render an image that is taken for official and, with it, all the features - among other details - the smartphone.

LG Optimus Black, with videoreview CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC1

A few days ago we could all learn together that had been released the new version of the custom ROM's most beloved and downloaded by users, the CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC1. In order to provide as much information about how it behaves, we released an videoreview with the ROM installed on our LG Optimus Black.
Let's assume that immediately after shooting the video we noticed another bug in the ROM, which is not entirely free but performs really well. The bug that we mentioned about the WiFi. When it is active and turn off the display, WiFi is suspended by default, as is normal for both. The problem occurs when sblocchiamo and rekindle the display. It starts a loop that prevents the terminal to perform any operation, and is barely able to restart it - unless of course brutally remove the battery. So there's still something to fix but it's nothing earth-shattering.
The CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 is much more stable than other versions utilizzabilissima nightly and daily if you have special needs with their smartphone. We have not had the opportunity to try this ROM on other devices but we believe that in principle the behavior of the ROM is the same for everyone else.
Recall that the CM 7.2 does not have, like all other Cyanogen, including Google Apps, therefore, must be flashate from recovery for viewing. Find everything you need down the article. Unfortunately, the only file GAPPS was found in August 2011, but there are to experience particular problems because the application will automatically update themselves. If you want to manually install the Google Store Play from which you can then update all the apps, once flashed the file downloaded Google GAPPS Play Store here.
So we leave you with video LG Optimus Black CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC1 and to download the ROM and Google Apps.
Good vision, good download and enjoy!

Samsung Galaxy S III confirms official launch in April

This time the news is quite official as to announce it is the President of Samsung China, Kim Young-Ha, who said that the launch of the new Samsung flagship device, the Galaxy S III, has been moved to one month, namely from May to in April. For sure you'll all be happy with this news because the terminal is expected for many months and finally get official news about it.

But what has not yet been outlined is the marketing plan for the smartphone, which could be presented and launched in China since the beginning, only to be distributed in other geographical areas in a short time, but we have no confirmation of this.

President Kim Young-Ha a few days ago he had already affirmed that Samsung plans to invest heavily in China, which probably will become the lung from which it can breathe more air (money ed.) Regarding his next long-awaited flagship device .

So, surely the Samsung Galaxy S III will be launched, if not precisely in April, in the next two months at most, and we can not but be excited about this. Maybe, now that there has been a first formalization, can other interesting details on the smartphone leaked before its official launch.

Updates will follow. Stay tuned!

Samsung and RIM infringed the patent of emoticons

Strangely, this time not to accuse Apple Samsung or another company for infringement of its patents, but it varies Holdings. That company, in fact, possess a patent that would cover the emoticons and the way in which they are to be selected by the user.

The patent specification Varies Holdings as follows: "This concept allows the user to select emoticons from a menu of options rather than typing all the characters one at a time." So, in our opinion, not only Samsung and RIM would infringe the patent, but with them, the vast majority of companies. After the jump, a picture of the patent.

The Samsung devices are indicted by Various Holdings Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus S, and other devices that do not have in Italy, namely Samsung Acclaim, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Transform. As for RIM BlackBerry devices are instead the Bold, BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Storm.

The patent was filed in 2005 and was later approved in 2007 but, meanwhile, varies Holdings was incorporated in other companies, a reality that will not affect the final decision of the judges on the patent.

You can agree or not, the war on patents not yet see an end, although in this case seems to be rather a pretext by VH to scrounge money from Samsung and RIM. To be tax, however, the patent would be violated, then the final decision lies with the judges of the case.

Samsung and RIM will be pardoned or the two companies will have to shell out money to hush up the affair and have to withdraw the charge varies Holdings of patent infringement, given the large number of devices involved?

Android Netbook and a possible combination: ICS on Asus Eee PC X101

It is not the first time that we write the x86 project and we show you a video of an "Intel computers" with Android system. Although we believe that Android is not a system suitable for use with mouse, it seems interesting to see how developers can create versions of Android running on Intel processors and also, in this case, the Asus Eee PC X101.

As we see the system moves very well (the launcher is Launcher GO HD), and features are almost complete. There remains some difficulty using the mouse, which is also present problems on the range Transformer precisely because of easy and convenient management of Ui by touch, of course not on this Eee PC X101.

We'll see you in the future Android really can merge with the PC experience.

HTC Desire: patch for the problem to 15% Off

If you are a holder of the 'HTC Desire may have encountered a problem quite boring. The terminal, which came to 15% charge or so turns off automatically without any notice. What could be the reason for the shutdown? The problem occurs after a certain period of time of the battery in the long run causes a greater speed in the aging process of the same. It is therefore necessary to calibrate the battery but to ensure that everything goes well you need to fix the code on the battery used by the kernel of the phone. The discovery was made as usual by a user named XDA TheGanymedes which is expressed by saying:

The device believed to have more capacity when in fact the charge is completed (takes 15-20% depending on the battery) and off by a strange proportions.

Samsung Galaxy S III is revealed in the photo, announcement on May 22 in London?

A very interesting picture of the PR agency WeberShandwik was leaked on the web and the hero he is, the long awaited Samsung Galaxy S III.

If this proves to be a fake, we can say that everything has been done by art, but if it is to the contrary might make us think of an upcoming presentation and the date it is most palpable in the May 22, 2012 in London.

Regarding aesthetics, we can say that confirms all the rumors: physical key center, two soft buttons on the sides as Samsung has taught us, borderless display (or almost) very broad, noble materials and Android ICS.

We will keep you informed as soon as we reach new rumors or news, stay tuned!

Samsung vs. Apple: stop the process of "slide-to-unlock"

The "utility models" are a sort of "patent quickly" with a duration of only 10 years and with an approval process essentially nil, they are a fast and safe method to identify themselves to the resolution of a problem and to "give special effectiveness or ease of application or employment ", as reported by Wikipedia. The main problem, however, is that utility models are not subjected to any kind of control before approval, so this is the date "on trust". For this reason there is "presuzione of validity" that is, instead, with the patents, which have to be invalidated by the prosecution and are supposed to be valid until proven otherwise. The utility models are temporeanei and, for this reason, care is the defense demonstrate that they are valid and have real utility.
Apple in 2007, simultaneously with the launch of the iPhone, a utility model on the "slide to unlock". During the clash in Germany in the Regional Court of Mannheim, Apple has used this model against Samsung, but it is possible that it will remain burned. Infatto The court suspended the trial pending a review by the Deutsches Patent-a Markenamt (German Patent and Trademark Office), which could lead to partial or total removal of the utility model registered by Apple. How risportato FOSS Patents, in fact, the judge Andreas Voss in charge of the case held that the court is not convinced of the validity of intellectual property in all aspects, especially with regard to the wider issues.
For the moment, the process has been put in a stationary phase of waiting for a response by the Patent Office. It may take several months before seeing results, and in the meantime, the process must remain completely still. He'll then be appealed to the two companies based on test results. Meanwhile, given the length of the utility model, its value for both legal and business will continue to fall.
It is right that the court addresses with skepticism about the usefulness of a model which the defense has shown the existence of reasonable doubt on the validity and credibility. Samsung has indeed been very credible and referred to a case of prior art that could lead to cancellation of the model. The Neonode N1m, in fact, had really a function of slide-to-unlock long before the invention of the iPhone. Apple, however, might object that the device did not have a sufficient level of visibility and distribution in Germany, making use of that compartment smartphone as a form of prior art. Judge Voss has made no comment about it, but it is clear that the defense of Samsung is focused primarily on this device and then it depends.
It is not the first time that Apple's patents and their validity is challenged in Germany. It is particularly important, however, that Samsung wins with the invalidation of the model, because virtually every implementation of methods that require dragging to unlock the device may be vulnerable at present. Also the implementation of the Samsung TouchWiz, which is very distant dall'unlock of IOS, could be subject to attacks.
